"This is another way to check for feedback before buying or selling on the board. If a seller has great ebay FB, the ID is shared....BUT...if the FB is not great, the ID is not offered. You can still get valuable info by using advanced search.
Advanced search (next to usual "search for items")
choose- Find Member- from column on left side of page.
Enter user ID...or EMAIL ADDY...This is the key point for me. I could not get the user ID..but I did get..
The email address XXXXXXXXXXX@aol.com is used by a valid eBay member with a feedback score of 62 (0% positive). We have not found a transaction between you and this member in the last 60 days. For privacy purposes, it is eBay's policy that User IDs are not revealed to members who are not involved in current or recent transactions with each other.
Seeing this FB score could be a good reason to keep your money in your pocket.
